Local Youth Have Big Fun at Blodgett Paintball
Blodgett, Missouri - Three groups of youth and their friends from area churches combined together this past weekend for a big youth event at the Blodgett Paintball and Fun Factory in Blodgett, Missouri.  Over forty-five young adults from Trinity United Methodist Church, St. Joe General Baptist Church, and Liberty Hill Church and many of their friends enjoyed the beautiful day on Sunday with guns, masks, and the physically challenging paintball courses.

The groups met at Trinity United Methodist following the church services Sunday morning for a quick BBQ lunch prior to the caravan leaving for Blodgett.  Many of the parents and teachers from each group joined in to help with the transportation of the group to the event.

The ideas surfaced from the First Christian Church in Dexter, who normally participates in the joint youth events.  Tim and Kay Holder had taken their youth to the Blodgett Paintball on other occasions and highly recommended the trip.

"I told my husband (David Russell) one day that I wanted to have a youth camp that churches could use and have fun as a group," shared Margaret Russell, co-owner of Blodgett Paintball and Fun Factory.  "We host overnight youth lock-ins and have recently completed several 6-person cabins that we will use for church camp events in the future."

Though paintball courses can be dangerous, the referees and team members at Blodgett Paintball are extremely attentive to details that keep everyone safe while participating in the games.  Many of the youth involved in this weekend's activities were first-timers but found the fun to totally wipe away any fear they had experienced prior to the event.

Overall, the combined youth events offer the participating churches a joint effort that allows all the youth to experience a good time as a group of faith based friends.  Many of the youth often attend youth group activities at other churches, and this offers a chance for everyone to join in the fun.
