Shirley Mae Scherer, daughter of Pansy Mills Worley of Dexter and the late Herman Maxwell Mills, was born on August 2, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life of December 29, 2015 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 63.

Mrs. Scherer was a member of the Hills General Baptist Church in rural Bloomfield.  She had worked as the Administrator for The Manor Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri since 1977.

In January of 1994, she was united in marriage to Dennis Scherer.  Mr. Scherer preceded her in death in February of 2006.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Rogers of Dexter and Brian Rogers and his wife Brandy of Dexter; by one brother, Herman James Mills of Glendale, Arizona; by one daughter-in-law, Robin Phelan Rogers Northern of Dexter; by seven grandchildren, MacKinlee Rogers, Blair Rogers, Miranda Rogers, Devon Rogers, Kenton Sanders, Sydney Rogers and Seth Rogers; and by one great-grandchild, Blakelee Rogers.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Aaron Rogers.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 1:00 P. M. to 3:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Buddy Heaton and Rev. Steve Tippen officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
