Richland Eliminates Woodland from SCAA Varsity Tournament Competition

Bloomfield, Missouri - In a very close SCAA Boys Basketball Varsity Tournament Game #2 the #4 Richland Rebels (8-6) escaped the #5 seeded Woodland Cardinals (8-7) 48-47.

Richland led at the end of the first 10-8, end of the second 23-13, but Woodland gave them a little scare in the third quarter when the Cardinals out scored the Rebels 18-7.  Woodland led 31-30 going into the final period of the game.

The Rebels fought back and improved their record to 9-6 with the win.  They will play the winner of the Dexter vs Bell City game on Thursday, January 24th at 7 p.m.

Daniel Petty had a game-high 17 points for the Rebels. He finished with four buckets and three treys.

Tanner Freeman also was in double digits for Richland adding 11 points.  He hit one trey and four 2-pointers.

Woodland's Paul Duncan recorded a team-high 15 points on seven 2-pointers and one from the charity stripe.

Karson Skinner finished with 14 points on five buckets and four free-throws.

Essex, Missouri - Richland High School senior Hunter Walker signed his letter of intent to participate in Track and Field at Lindenwood University at a press conference at Richland High School.

Along with Walker are his parents John and Jodi.

Behind are Kayelean Vance, Richland Track coach, Tim Cary, Lindenwood University Head Track and Field coach and Richland high school principal Cindy Rhodes.

Richland JV Beats Puxico JV in Game #4 of the SCAA Tournament

Bloomfield, Missouri - The Richland Junior Varsity Rebels defeated the Puxico Junior Varsity Indians 43 - 31 in the fourth game of Monday nights' SCAA boys basketball Tournament in Bloomfield.

Riley Glass recorded six 2-pointers in the second period to elevate Richland to at 24-17 lead at the half.  Glass recorded a game-high 20 points on 8 buckets and was 100% at the charity stripe sinking 4 for 4.

Michael Burton finished with 10 points on five field goals.

Andrew Geohagan recorded a team-high 9 points for Puxico.  Ethan Helm sank one three-pointer and Jayden Wooverton tallied two treys.

Advance Blasts Richland in SCAA Tournament

Bloomfield, Missouri - The #7 Richland Rebels handed the #1 seeded Advance Hornets a tough first quarter, but that's all they had and eventually they ran out of steam. Five players scored double figures for the Hornets as they eliminated the Rebels 80-46 in the first round of the SCAA boys basketball Tournament on Monday in Bloomfield.

Advance and Richland were tied 6-6 early on.  At the end of the first quarter Hornets 20, Rebels 15.

Dawson Mayo, 6'4" senior led all scorers with 22 points for the Indians.  He recorded half of Advance's first quarter points.

Michael Hood recorded both of his 3-pointers in the second period and finished with 17 points.

Preston Wuebker added 14 points.  He sank one 3-pointer in the second quarter and one in the fourth quarter.

Armani Vermillion finished the night with 11 points.  He hit one trey in the second period and was 100% from the charity stripe adding two.

Carson Miles also tallied 11 points.  He scored ten 2-pointers and two free-throws.

Clayton Harriel led Richland with a team-high 21 points.  He was 3/4 at the charity stripe and hit nine 2-pointers.

Hunter Walker tallied 13 points on three treys and two 2-pointers.

Josh Thornton finished with 11 point.

Richland (2-14) is now eliminated from the tournament.

Advance (15-3) will face the winner of the Tuesday's semifinal between #4 Bernie and #5 Bell City on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in game #10 of the 2017 SCAA boys basketball Tournament.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The Richland Rebels seeded last at the 60th Annual Bloomfield Christmas Tournament gave the Hayti Indians all they had early.  The Rebels took the lead 10 - 8 with 1:15 remaining in the first period.

Hayti answered with a couple of baskets while Richland continued to score earning them a 4 point lead at the end of the first quarter. 

Hayti tied it up at 14 all and took the lead with 5:27 left in the first period.  At the half Hayti was leading 41 - 22!
