Joette Corbin Wamble, daughter of the late Vernon and Mildred Corbin, was born on March 12, 1934 in Stoddard County and departed this life on February 10, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 81.

Mrs. Wamble was a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Dexter.  She had worked at the International Shoe Factory in Dexter and as a cook at Dexter High School before moving to Texas.

On April 3, 1953, she was united in marriage to Joe Louis Wamble in the Christian Church in Dexter.  Mr. Wamble preceded her in death on March 3, 1990.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Jo Almendarez of San Antonio, Texas; by one son, Ken Louis Wamble of Effingham, Illinois; by one sister, Patty Heflin of Corpus Christi, Texas; by three grandchildren, Chasidy Jones of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Brent Wamble of Dexter, Missouri and Kyle Almendarez of San Antonio, Texas; and by four great-grandchildren, Luke Jones, Clark Jones, Kaycee Wamble and Maycee Wamble.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Triplett Cemetery, Rural Bloomfield, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Margaret Lee Wagner, daughter of the late Edgar DeArman and Alcy May Pruitt DeArman, was born on January 6, 1923 in Powe, Missouri and departed this life on February 14, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 93.

Mrs. Wagner was a member of Brown General Baptist Church in Puxico.  She had worked as a presser at Elder’s Manufacturing in Dexter and she and her husband had owned Wagner Grocery in Acorn Ridge, Missouri.

She enjoyed quilting at Brown General Baptist Church, spending time with her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Autumn, Pearce and Riley, and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
 
On August 9, 1957, she was united in marriage to Herman Leon Wagner in Dexter, Missouri.  Mr. Wagner preceded her in death on February 6, 1980.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Wagner and wife Patty of Puxico, Missouri; by one daughter, Cindy Slaughter and husband Pete of Puxico, Missouri; by two sisters, Mary Wagner of LaGrange, Georgia and Doris Grim of Van Buren, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Justin Wagner, Nickolas Wagner, Adam Wagner, David Scott and Wyatt Wagner; by eleven great-grandchildren; by five step-grandchildren, Wayne Wagner, Gary Wagner, Kevin Wagner, Danny Buchanan and Berry Buchanan; and by ten step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl DeArman and Harold William DeArman; and by two sisters, Maurine Hager and Murlene Norman.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Buttry officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Dorothy DeJournett Obituary

Dorothy DeJournett, daughter of the late Winzel Lee "Jack" and Leah Virginia Curd McCollum, was born in Avert, Missouri on March 4, 1932, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 15, 2016, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 11 days.

Dorothy had lived Avert and Park Hills before moving to Dexter several years ago. She was of the Baptist faith.

On August 23, 1947, she married Wiley DeJournett in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2014.

Surviving are one sister, Joyce Matney of Benton, Missouri; one nephew and wife, Mike & Tammy McCollum of Dexter, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheri DeJournett; three nephews and one niece.

Friends may call after 11:00 am on Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016, at 1:00 pm at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.

Dixie Watkins Obituary

Dixie Watkins, daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy Jennings White, was born in Pyle Town, Missouri on December 10, 1937, and passed away at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 11, 2016, at the age of 78 years 3 months 29 days.

Dixie had lived all her life in the Pyle Town and Dexter, Missouri area. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church in Pyle Town. She loved singing, playing the Piano and working in the yard. She most enjoyed being with her family. Dixie had worked for the Daily Statesman selling advertising. And worked as a hair dresser for many years at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home.

She was a past member of the Elks Lodge #2439 in Dexter. And was a big supporter of St. Judes.

On March 10, 1983 she married Marsh Watkins in Dexter, Missouri.

Surviving is her husband Marsh Watkins of Dexter; two sons, Joey Dodd of Benica California, Brian Dodd of Dexter, Missouri; one stepson, Mike Watkins of Dexter; four brothers Larry White and Mike White both of Dexter Missouri, Don White of Bloomfield Missouri, and James L. White of Pyle Town Missouri; two sisters, Brenda Parker of Dexter Missouri and Debbie Kozan of Nashville, Illinois. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Dixie was preceded in death by one daughter Kim Morgan, and three stepsons Rick, Rob and John Kevin Watkins.

Friends may call on Monday, February 15, 2016, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 15, 2016 at 1:30 pm at the Watkins and Sons funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Paul Pierce of Pyle Town, Missouri.

Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery, in Pyle Town Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Maxine Jennings Obituary

Maxine Jennings, daughter of the late Frank Aaron Barker and Laura Ann Poole Barker, was born on September 19, 1928 in Brownwood, Missouri and departed this life on February 12, 2016 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 87.

Mrs. Jennings graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1947.  She worked for International Shoe Company from 1947 to 1962, at Brown Shoe Company for six years and Purolator for twenty-three years.  She was an active volunteer for the Dexter Chamber of Commerce for many years and was a volunteer at the Heritage Museum for ten years.

She is survived by two sons, Jamie Jennings and Rodney Jennings, both of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Janet Coleman of Dexter, Missouri and Dena Lutz of Baldwin, Missouri; by one sister, Norma Laura Sitz of Arkansas; by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Barker and Bill Barker; and by five sisters, Pearl Lawson, Edna Musgraves, Frankie Almond, Maude Skelton and Lizzie Mae Yount.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. 

A private funeral service will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 15, 2016. 

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
