Thelma Lee Husted, daughter of the late George Harrison and Bessie Myrtle Wakefield White, was born in Senath, Missouri on March 31, 1922, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on April 29, 2016, at the age of 94 years and 29 days.

Thelma had lived most of her life in Parma, Missouri. She was a member of the Parma United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women.

On April 8, 1962, she married Dr. George W. Husted, M.D. in Parma, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1971.

Surviving are one son, George "Gerry" Husted of Parma, Missouri; four grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dolly Leigh; four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 11:00 am on Monday, May 2, 2016, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri with Rev. Roy Sherfield of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Parma, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.

Carol Francis Stubbs Obituary

Carol Francis Stubbs, daughter of the late Leslie Francis and Mildred Owen Francis, was born on July 12, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and departed this life on April 24, 2016 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 78.

Mrs. Stubbs had worked as a college instructor, and had taught Sunday School at the First United Methodist Church in Caruthersville, Missouri.

On November 27, 1982, she was united in marriage to Rickey Stubbs in Campbell.  Mr. Stubbs survives of their residence in Dexter.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son Craig McDaniel of Dallas, Texas; by one daughter, Dena Schmidt and her husband Andrew of Memphis, Tennessee; by one brother, Lloyd Francis of Ukiah, California; by one sister, Betty Scalf of Kingston, Tennessee; by two grandsons, Jason Gentry and Kevin Gentry; and by three great-grandsons, Thomas Gentry, Chase Gentry and Tanner Gentry.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Jack Francis, Dale Francis, Bob Francis, Bill Francis and Jerry Francis; and by one sister, Eileen Francis.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers the family requests all memorials be made to the Stoddard County ARC, P.O. Box 444, Dexter, Missouri 63841

Randy Copeland Obituary

Randy Copeland, son of the late George Copeland and Opal Totton Copeland, was born on June 15, 1955 and departed this life at SoutheastHEALTH of Cape Girardeau on April 23, 2016 at the age of 60.

Mr. Copeland attended the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, was a self-employed heating and air conditioning technician and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Tamera Huson on March 26, 1986 at Dexter. Mrs. Copeland preceded him in death on June 11, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel W. Copeland of Puxico and Shawn Copeland of Poplar Bluff: by three daughters, Kelly Wheatley of Bell City, Michelle Marvel and Candice Robinson both of Dexter: by two brothers, Gary Copeland and Wayne Copeland both of Ellsinore: by thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Rev.Tim Russell officiating.

Michelle Lynn Triplett Tilmon Obituary

Michelle Lynn Triplett Tilmon, daughter of Keith Triplett and Susan Douglas Tubbs on August 11, 1970 and departed this life on April 21, 2016 at the age of 45 after a final bout with cancer.
 
Mrs. Tilmon grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Washington High School.
 
She is survived by her parents, Susan Douglas Tubbs & her step-father, David; by her father, Keith Triplett & step-mother, Laura; by her husband, Marshall Tilmon; by their five children, Kegan, Aubri, Blaydn, Haylee and Mason “Ugene”; she also leaves behind an older daughter, Samantha; one brother, Thadd; three sisters, Mary, Shannon and Jeanette; by her parents-in-law, Henry & Joy Tilmon; Also by her dog Rylee who clung by her side until she left for the hospital; also by other relatives and many friends.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, April 30, 2016 starting at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Tilmon officiating. 

Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Vincent Suhany Obituary

Rev. Vincent “Vic” Suhany, son of the late Alex Suhany and Theresa Horvath Suhany, was born on January 30, 1927 in East St. Louis, Illinois and departed this life at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on April 23, 2016 at the age of 89.

 

Rev. Suhany was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946, retired from the United States Marine Corp serving from 1950 to 1969, a former 15 year employee of the United States Postal Service and an ordained Southern Baptist minister in which position he pastored several local small churches.

 

He was married to Harriet Jane Hight for 62 years and to this union four children were born.

 

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dr. Mark Suhany and wife Lisa of Henderson, Nevada and Daniel Suhany and wife Michelle of Carrollton, Texas; by two daughters, Barbara Short and husband Randy of Jamestown, Kentucky and Ilona Sadler and husband Kevin of Bloomfield, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Sarah Shoemaker, Susan Short, Kellie Short, Holly Short and Jackson Suhany; by one great-grandchild, Reid Shoemaker; by two step-grandchildren, Mike Sadler and wife Rena and Ashley Blackwell and husband Eddie; by five step-great-grandchildren, Ayden Sadler, Liam Sadler, Shire Sadler, Jensen Blackwell and Ronin Blackwell; and by many nieces and nephews;

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alex Suhany and Louis Suhany; by one sister, Jo Ann Romeo; and by one grandchild, Carl Vincent Short.

 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Lloyd Anderson and Rev. Lonny Mittag officiating. 

 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
