In Loving Memory of Rod Bowling

Rod Bowling of Sturdivant, son of Artie Scott and the late Hayden Bennett, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on September 14, 1951, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, August 12, 2016, at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Mr. Bowling had lived in the Stoddard County area all his life. He was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico. He had retired from the Nestle Purina Petcare Company, was a member of the Mingo Men's Ministry and the N.R.A.

On June 12, 1970 he married Judy Meeker in Davenport, Oklahoma.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Bowling of Sturdivant; son, DeWayne Bowling of Jackson; daughter, Amy McCutchen of Sturdivant; his mother, Artie Hatchel of Bloomfield; two grandchildren; three brothers, Steve Bowling and Tim Bowling both of Bloomfield, Kevin Bowling of Parkston, South Dakota; and one sister, Connie Franklin of Bloomfield. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hayden Bennett.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Jim Clark of Puxico officiating.

Interment will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Loving Memory of Amil Lee Britton

Amil Lee Britton of Essex, son of late Jesse Arthur and Thelma Lorene Lacy Britton, was born in Scott City, Missouri on December 18,1943, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on August 9, 2016, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 22 days.

Amil had lived in the Dexter and Essex areas all his life. He had worked as a farm hand for the Mike Fowler farms for 33 years. He was a member of the Dexter Eagles Aerie.

Surviving are his companion, Shelby Peck of Dexter. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Gary Donald Britton, James Presson, Gene Presson, Dick Presson; and three sisters, Ila Sanders, Evaline Millam and Edna Harwood.

Friends may visit on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs  of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Loving Memory of Carroll Dean Trout

Carroll Dean Trout, the son of the late George Daniel and Oretha Catherine Gilpin Trout was born March 8, 1944, in Campbell, MO.

On January 2, 2001, in Bloomfield, MO, he was united in marriage to Josephine Pelech. She survives.

Mr. Trout died August 8, 2016, in Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 72 years and 5 months.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Trout of Malden, MO; five sons, Jerry Trout and wife Gina of Pillion, NE, Gary Ward of Bloomfield, Blain Trout of Malden, Rylan Trout of Malden and Cayden Trout of Malden; 3 daughters, Carolyn Hayes of Willow Springs, MO; Connie Clark of Poplar Bluff, MO and Malinia Jones and husband Charles of Little Rock, Ar; 1 step daughter, Dawn Elkins of Arkansas; two brothers, Kenny Trout and wife Barb of Bernie and Rick Trout of Wappapello, MO; one sister, Pat McCollough and husband Bud of Duley, MO; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; Ex-wife, Joyce Mize Trout and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one step daughter, Donna Hurst; two sisters, Barb Mason and Peggy Trout; and three brothers, Donald Joe Trout, Harvey Trout and Billy Ray Trout.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will held Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel with Reverend Steve Fitzpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery in Malden, MO.

In Loving Memory of Wayne Lewis

Wayne Lewis of Bloomfield, son of the late Simeon Vest and Hattie Myrtle Dixon Lewis, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on November 26, 1922, and passed away at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau on August 8, 2016, at the age of 93 years.

He had lived in Bloomfield most of his life. He had worked in the grocery business as a meat cutter, was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during WWII.

On October 10, 1996, he married Alma Louise Fulkerson Burdine in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Alma L. Lewis of Bloomfield; one daughter, Milda Dean Stevens of Florida; one step-daughters, Peggy Hunt of Scottsville, Kentucky; two step-sons, Larie Burdine of Idalia, Tony Burdine of Bloomfield; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother, Tom Lewis of Springfield, Missouri and one sister, Leona L. Tucker of Cape Girardeau. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Mary Pearcy, three sisters and three brothers.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, after 9:00 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield with the Rev. Ronnie Stevens of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors, Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Loving Memory of Bob Rowe

Bob Rowe, son of the late Walter James Rowe and Dorothy Francois Rowe was born on October 7, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 74.

Mr. Rowe was a salesman at Allen Christian Buick GMC in Dexter.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and he had served as a voluntary fire fighter with the Dexter Fire Department for fifteen years.

He was united in marriage to Patty Ann Townsend in Dexter, on December 3, 1993.  Mrs. Rowe survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters; Teresa Rowe of Poplar Bluff,  Susan Whitlow and husband Dean of Poplar Bluff and Julia Papanicolaou and husband Costas of Poplar Bluff; by two step-sons; Derick Hux of De Soto and Travis Hux of Lee’s Summitt; by two brothers; Dale Rowe and David Rowe, both of Dexter;  by four sisters;  Margie Daniel of Collinsville, Illinois, Carol Scmidt of O’Fallon, Illinois, Eileen McConnell of Advance and Kathy Cato of Dexter;  by nine grandchildren Courtney Vinson, Deanna Ross, Amanda Whitlow, Emma Papanicolaou, Alec Papanicolaou, Finley Papanicolau, Rylie Hux, Ryese Hux, Isabella Hux, and four great-grandchildren Gracie Vinson, Rhaegan Vinson, Colby Ross, Maebry Ross.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 5:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 A. M. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
