In Memory of Mildred Claudine Fulkerson Miller

Mildred Claudine Fulkerson Miller, daughter of the late Claude Newton Fulkerson and Lena Camille Bean Fulkerson, was born August 21, 1930, and passed on to her eternal home on April 11, 2024, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri.


Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter, Missouri. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years followed by her employment at Monarch Feed Mills, as Executive Secretary, then Collier Company Real Estate from where she retired.


On April 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to James Gregg Miller, Sr., in Piggott, Arkansas. To this union three children were born, Deborah Scott Miller Stidham (Mark), James Gregg Miller Jr. (Melanie) both of Dexter, Missouri, and Mary Beth Miller Williams (Rod) of Neosho, Missouri.


Mildred loved being a grandmother to James Scherer, Jason Stidham, Brent Stidham, Brandon Miller, Lauren Miller, Elliot Duckworth, and Zanna Duckworth; and great-grandmother to Lily Scherer, Holly Scherer, Callum Scherer, Holland Stidham, Kynlee Miller, Brock Miller, Landry Miller, Brody Duckworth, Emery Duckworth, and Sylas McCain.


Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim; grandson, Jason Stidham, and son-in-law, Mark Stidham.


Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A memorial service will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mindy Kiepe officiating.


Mildred’s family would like to thank Central Gardens Assisted Living for their loving care while she was there, and to Cypress Point Skilled Nursing for loving and caring for Millie, as they called her, over the past two years. They would also like to thank Elara Caring for their excellent care and support during her last days and hours.


Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.


Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
