Dexter Sports Spotlight - Jackie Kiger

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Dexter Sport Spotlight shines on Jackie Kiger.

Jackie is the daughter of Jerry and Karen Kiger.  She is a senior at Dexter High School.

She is also the granddaughter of Don and Peggy Davis and Robert Kiger, and Berneda Henley.

She has been a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes for four years, Student Council for four years, DECA two years, DECA Treasurer, Sr. Beta Club and National Honor Society.

Jackie has lettered in Cheer and Dance all four years of high school as well as Track & Field for three years.

Her future plans are to attend college and earn a degree in Business and Early Childhood Education.

7th Grade Lady Cats Beat Doniphan in Home Opener

Dexter, Missouri - The 7th grade Lady Cats coached by Chad Allen and Eric Sitze won their first game of the season against the Doniphan Lady Dons 39-37.

Dulcie Pullen #12 had an incredible night sinking 13 buckets and 4 from the charity stripe for a game-high 30 points for the Bearcats.

Bailey Carson recorded a team-high 15 points for the Lady Dons and Sydni Speck earned 10 points before fouling out late in the game.

Final Score 7th Grade Dexter 39, Doniphan 37

Dexter (39) - Lexie Laramore 1, Dulcie Pullen 30, Magi McBride 8, FG 15, FT 9/23, F 14. (3-pointers: None, Fouled Out: None).

Doniphan (37) - Madison Sisco 8, Sydni Speck 10, Desiree Mischka 2, Bailey Carson 15, and Alayna Jackson 2, FG 16, FT 5/12, F 21. (3-pointers: None, Fouled Out: Sydni Speck).

The Lady Cats will be back in action on Monday when they host the Woodland Lady Cardinals.  Game time 6:00 p.m.

8th Grade Cats Take a Loss at Home Opener

Dexter, Missouri - The 8th grade Lady Bearcats opened their season with a loss to the Doniphan Lady Don at home on Monday, October 3, 2016. 

The Lady Bearcat had a 22 - 10 lead going into the locker room at halftime.  The Lady Dons exploded in the 3rd quarter earning double digits of 17 points and again in the 4th quarter scoring 15 points.

Chloe Thurmon #23 led the Cats with 11 points on 5 buckets and 1 from the charity stripe. 

The Lady Dons had two athletes in doubles. Rosenda Torres recorded double digits for the Lady Dons with 12 points while Madison Eddington recorded 10 points.

Final Score 8th Grade Dexter 36, Doniphan 42

The 8th grade Lady Bearcats (0-1) will be back in action on Monday, October 10th when they host the Woodland Cardinals. Game time 6:00 p.m.

Pink OUT for SENIOR Night!

Dexter, Missouri - On Friday, October 7, 2016 Charles Bland Stadium for one night only will shed their traditional red and black colors and opt for PINK! 

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Bearcats want to support those who are struggling with breast cancer, survived breast cancer or lost their fight against this terrible disease!

Pink Out the stadium and show your support!!  The boys of fall will have their PINK on will you?

It's also Senior Night for the Dexter Bearcats!  All fall sports will be represented on the field prior to the start of the Dexter vs Park Hills Central football game at 6:30 p.m.  Football, football cheer, tennis, cross country, and volleyball seniors and their parents will be lined up on the track.

Shown in the photo are the Dexter Bearcat cheerleading squad wearing their PINK to promote Friday night's game.

DMS Cross Country Athletes Earn Medals at Notre Dame

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - T.S. Hill Middle School is seems to be building quite a reputation among middle school cross country competitors. 

"We had two personal bests and one season best at the Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational," stated middle school cross country coach Leonard Morse.  "We had four runners earn medals as well."

Gabrielle Barrett earned 25th place, Brett Pollock earned 13th place, Andrew Ellinghouse earned 16th place, and Carter Dorton earned 21st place.  Each received a medal.

Cross Country will compete at Jackson (neutral site) with Saxony Lutheran and Chaffee beginning at 4:00 p.m.
