Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Chamber of Commerce directors posed for a recent photo after one of their early morning meetings.

Debbie Stidham succeeded to the office of President of the Board of Directors.  Jason Banken is the new First Vice-President and Stacy Blocker is the Secretary/Treasurer.

New directors are Aaron Mathis of Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home, Rhonda Hall with Bagby Wealth, and Kim Norman with Locust Str Flowers.

Bloomfield, Missouri – It’s that time again for the 5th Annual Larry B. Jones H.O.P.E. Campaign fundraiser!

Larry B. Jones HOPE Campaign is in memory of their dad, in honor of their mother, and for all who have battled cancer themselves or have fought alongside a family member or friend.  This is their small way of giving back!  They celebrate H.O.P.E. – Healing, Optimism, Prayer, and Example!

This year they are raffling two $500 Wal-Mart gift cards!  Tickets are on sale now through April 27, 2016.  Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  Drawing will be held live on DKEX 102.3 FM / 1590 AM at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016.

The H.O.P.E. Campaign is a division of 18ForeLife, a 501 ©(3) charity with a shared mission of benefiting area cancer warriors and individuals faced with life-threatening illness.

Since March 2011, the Larry B. Jones H.O.P.E. Campaign has raised $60,000 for area cancer warriors.

Dexter VFW Hosts 6th Annual Purple Heart Hunting Day

Dexter, Missouri - Braving the weather, these Veterans of Dexter VFW Post 2659, had a lot of enjoyment shooting down some “terrorist ducks” at Otter Slough on December 12, 2015.

The ducks fought back, but as they were on active duty, these Veteran warriors won the day.

A breakfast was served after the hunt of pancakes, bacon, coffee, sausage and eggs.

All veterans are invited to participate and to join the VFW. Contact David Vaughn at 270-205-8207.

Dexter, Missouri - The tickets are sold, the food has been ordered, and the awards are waiting to be announced. It's going to be an exciting evening!

Hillary Starnes, Dexter Chamber Director, is pretty eager about this year's awards event.  It will be her first of many she hopes.  There is no theme this year, just business attire.  Bring your appetite because the food will be delicious and the event will feature a Cake Buffet.  

"It's going to be a thrilling and electrifying evening for our Chamber Members and their employees," commented Starnes. "We have sold more than 220 tickets and will be the largest crowd ever for the Chamber event."

Doors will open for the banquet at 5:00 p.m. and the event will begin at 6:00 p.m.

The ShowMe Times will post photos of all the winners for Business of the Year, Industry of the Year, Educator of the Year and Organization of the Year following the banquet.
