10th Annual Prayer Walk Held at Dexter Schools

Over 125 people participated in the 10th Annual Prayer Walk at Dexter Schools Sunday, August 21st.

Participants gathered for a group prayer for the safety of staff and students and a successful school year at Southwest Elementary.

Pastor Mike Williams of the First Christian Church, Shawan Cook, Youth Pastor at Liberty Hill General Baptist Church, and Mitch Grainger, Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church of Dexter offered prayers.

After the group prayer those participating had the option to walk or drive to the other buildings (Bearcat Event Center, High School, T.S. Hill Middle School, Charles Bland Stadium, Central Elementary and the Administration Building) on campus and offer prayers.

10th Annual Back-to-School Community Prayer Walk at Dexter Public Schools

Dexter, MO - Please join Mitch Grainger, Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church of Dexter on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 6 p.m. for a Back 2 School Prayer Walk beginning at Southwest Elementary.

Everyone will meet at Southwest Elementary School and walk around Southwest Elementary, Central Elementary, T.S. Hill Middle School, Dexter High School, Charles Bland Football Stadium, and the Dexter School Administration Building and pray.

It is an opportunity to pray for our children, teachers, nurses, bus drivers, school administrators, school employees, athletes, parents, board members and anyone who is involved with Dexter’s youth.

You can walk or just stand and pray.  Groups may form or you may stand alone.  The point being, YOU are invited to come.  

This is a wonderful way to start off the new school year!  It doesn’t matter what church you attend or even if you attend a church, EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND THE PRAYER WALK FOR DEXTER SCHOOLS!

Hope International Registration for Back to School Bash Ends June 30th

Hope International Registration for Back to School Bash End June 30th.

Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.  Registration for Dunklin County,  will be held each day at Hope International, 1708 St Francis Street in Kennett. 

Registration for Stoddard  County will be held the times at the Lighthouse  Church, 18555 Lighthouse Drive, Dexter, MO.

Parent/Legal Guardian must be the one to register the child.

No registration will be taken over the phone.

Registration is for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

The event will be held on August 5th for Dunklin County and August 11th for Stoddard County.  Both begin at 10 a.m.

Baccalaureate Service Held for Bloomfield Graduating Class of 2022

Bloomfield, MO - The Bloomfield Ministerial Alliance held Baccalaureate Service for the Bloomfield High School Class of 2022 on Wednesday, May 11th at St. Joe General Baptist Church.

More than 200 people were in attendance and almost all of the graduating class were present.

Students entered to Pomp and Circumstance and opening prayer was lead by Mike Lee of Walker General Baptist Church.

Steve Koerner of Trinity United Methodist Church spoke of words of wisdom to the students.

Members of the Bloomfield High School Choir sang "Praise His Holy Name" and "Open Thou Mine Eyes" directed by Mrs. Lenzy Leimbach and accompanied by Mrs. Lisa Pulley.

Jonathan Rice of St. Joe General Baptist Church had a very special message to the seniors.  

Travis Lambert of Risen Church performed the closing prayer.

Bibles were distributed to all of the seniors who attended and refreshments were served after the ceremony.

The 2022 Bloomfield Class of 2022 are Molly Below, Mason Bennett, Marian Black, Persephone Bradley, Matthew Cazee, Garrett Cohen, Abigail Conner, Aidan Cowart, Gavyn DeBeaux, Andrew DeVore, Alaina Dockins, Hannah Faries, Rollins Gigaroa, Dalli Griffin, Emilie Hancock, Nathan Haught, Rosa Hester, Dawson Hill, Skylar Howard, Ashlynn Hudgens-Sills, Shane Hull, Alyssa Jarrell, Jeffrey Jarrell, Katelyn Johnson,Joseph Lane, Nathan Lockhart, Michael Loveless, Ryan McAnally, Ethan McRoberts, Mattison Pennington, Karsynn Phillips, Hayleigh Poe, Austin Pratt, Joshua Reynolds, Will Robison, Connor Scott, Abbigayle Siler, Lane Sisson, Skyler Smith, Ely Stoker, Tanner Taylor, Emma Thorn, Isabell Tippen, Michael Webb, and Kylie Wheelis.

DHS Class of 2022 Baccalaureate to be held on May 15th

Dexter, MO - All 2022 graduates of Dexter High School are invited to attend Baccalaureate service on Sunday, May 15th at 6:00 p.m.

Baccalaureate will be presented by the Dexter Ministerial Alliance and will be held at the First Assembly of God Church located at 911 Brown Pilot Road.  The church is behind Southwest Elementary.

The “Baccalaureate” service is, basically, a worship service offered in a community for its graduating class and their families and friends.

All graduates are encouraged to attend.
