Dexter, MO - Due to the COVID-19 or commonly called Coronavirus, the Dexter High School cancelled the Top 10% Honors Banquet set for Monday, March 16, 2020. Mrs. Alana Dowdy, high school principal, didn't want the students not to have their moment of recognition and chose to have a quick program in the auditorium during school hours. Parents and the general public were not invited however news media and yearbook staff were on hand to capture the entire recognition of students.
Each grade will have their own article with a photo of the entire group on stage. More photos will be available on the ShowMe Times Facebook page. Times like this we have to adapt. It will be memories that students will tell their children.
Students were also given programs and a yard sign to take home to parents.
The speaker and honored guest was First Lieutenant Ryan Joyner. A video of Ryan's chat with the students will also be posted on the ShowMe Times Facebook page.
