2019 DHS Fall Activities Senior Night Featuring Jakob Al-Makuter

Dexter, Missouri - The DHS Fall Activities Senior Night was held at Charles Bland Stadium on Friday, October 25, 2019 prior to the start of the Malden vs Dexter football game.

Jakob Al-Makuter is the son of Dhafer and Melissa Al-Makuter.

He is a member of the DHS Marching Band.

His future plans are to attend the University of Missouri - Columbia and major in Business Management.

His most memorable moment at DHS is when a certain someone put a ketchup packet in the microwave. We all know who you are.

Little League Football Team Recognized at Friday Night Halftime

Dexter, Missouri - The Heartland Youth Football League team was honored at halftime on Friday, October 25, 2019.

The team has a record of 6 wins and only 1 loss.

The 5th/6th grade Championship game will kickoff at 5:30pm on Saturday at "The Pit" in Jackson, Missouri.

2019 DHS Volleyball Senior Night Featuring Alexa Werneck

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School honored their volleyball seniors on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Bearcat Event Center.

Alexa Werneck is the daughter of Chad and Amber Werneck.

She has lettered in volleyball all four years and was on the 2018 All-District Team.

Her future plans are to attend college and major in Occupational Therapy.

"My most memorable moment is playing at sectionals during my freshman and sophomore year.....I put 3 blocks up against Leketor to take us to the 3rd set.  She is the best volleyball player I have ever seen and it was the BEST FEELING EVER!!!"

2019 DHS Volleyball Senior Night Featuring Blair Rogers

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School honored their volleyball seniors on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Bearcat Event Center.

Blair Rogers is the daughter of Robin and Scott Northern and the late Aaron Rogers.

She has lettered in volleyball all four years and has received All-Conference and All-District Honors.

Her future plans are to attend the University of Missouri - Columbia and major in Political Science.  She plans to become a criminal defense attorney.

"My most memorable moment is when our volleyball team lost to Advance, Bernie, and Bloomfield all in one night at the Stoddard County Tournament, but came back the next night and won the whole tournament!  It really showed me what team work and a little grit could do."

SCAA Varsity Volleyball Tournament Continues at Bell City

Bell City, Missouri - The first round of the Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) Varsity Volleyball Tournament was held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Bell City.

The #1 seeded Advance Hornets beat Puxico 25-5, 25-5.

The #2 seeded Dexter Bearcats defeated Richland 25-8, 25-11.

The #3 seeded Woodland Cardinals swepts Bell City 25-13, 25-14.

The #4 seeded Bernie Mules held off Bloomfield 22-25, 25-19, 26-24.

Advance (26-2) will face Bernie (18-5) in the semifinals at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 17th.

Dexter (15-7-4) will face Woodland (21-2-3) at 8 p.m. in the semifinals at 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 17th.

Puxico (0-21-1) will face Bloomfield (8-14-1) in a consolation semifinal at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 15th followed by Richland (6-18) vs. Bell City (5-17-2) at 8 p.m.
