A PROCLAMATION

 
As a mark of respect for the victims of gun violence perpetrated on December 2, 2015, in San Bernardino, California, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions through December 7, 2015. 

I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
 
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this third day of December, in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fortieth.

Stoddard County, Missouri - The Shop With A Hero program is in need of donations.  They specifically request batteries to go along with all the toys that the children will receive.

AA, AAA, C, and D are needed, but AA are in need more than anything.  They can be dropped off at the Dexter Police Department, Bernie Police Department, Stoddard County Sheriff's Department or Stoddard County Ambulance.

City of Dexter Election Filing Deadlines

Dexter, Missouri - The City of Dexter, Missouri will have a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 for the following offices:

Mayor                       Two Year Term

City Collector            Four Year Term

Ward 1 Alderman     Two Year Term

Ward II Alderman     Two Year Term

Ward III Alderman    Two Year Term

Filing of an office may be done at Dexter City Hall, 301 East Stoddard Street, during regular business hours, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 and closing at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016.

Filing for these offices may be done in the City Clerk’s office during regular business hours from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

City’s Holiday Schedule:

Christmas:  City Offices will close at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2015 and will reopen 8:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015.

New Year’s:  City Offices will be closed Friday, January 1, 2016.

SCHMEDEMANN NAMED MATERNAL

AND CHILD HEALTH SERVICES DIRECTOR

Cape Girardeau, Missouri -  Saint Francis Medical Center announces the appointment of Isabel Schmedemann, RN, BSN, MBA, FACHE, as director of Maternal and Child Health Services.

Schmedemann will oversee the full continuum of obstetrical care offered by Saint Francis, including high-risk prenatal care provided by Cape Perinatology Services, labor and delivery within the Family BirthPlace and Cape Care for Women, specialized neonatal care for premature and critically ill newborns in the region’s first Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and follow-up pediatric care at the Children’s Center.

Prior to coming to Saint Francis, Schmedemann was chief operating and chief nursing officer at Goodall Hospital in Sanford, Maine; associate vice president of nursing at Southern Maine Health Care; chief nursing officer at McKee Medical Center in Colorado; vice president of patient care services at Hutchinson Hospital Corporation in Kansas; and maternal-child nursing director at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Kansas.

Schmedemann earned her MBA from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, and a BSN from the University of Kansas School of Nursing.
