
Virginia Lee Hampton of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Lloyd and Ruth Mae Bennett Cox, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on December 5, 1936, and passed away at the Bloomfield Nursing Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on November 20, 2019, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 15 days.
She moved to Michigan as a young lady and spent many years there before returning to Bloomfield. She had worked as a secretary in Michigan, working for attorneys and at the Ford Motor Company. After returning she had served as the Librarian at the Bloomfield Public Library.
On May 20, 1978 she married William Arthur Hampton in Trenton, Michigan. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1995.
Surviving are one daughter & husband, Karen & Donald Fadden of Lincoln Park, Michigan; three sons and wives, Rick & Jess Johnston of Michigan, Mark & Rosy Johnston of Virginia, Larry & Libby Johnston of Ohio; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren; three brothers, Don, Dennis and Charles Cox all of Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Johnston, one brother, Leon Cox and a sister in infancy.
Friends may visit on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Tippen of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow at the Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Mike Hess of Dexter, son of Kathryn Imogene Colbert Hess and the late Roy Franklin Hess, was born in Lilbourn, Missouri on November 1, 1960, passed away at his home in Dexter on November 19, 2019, at the age of 59 years and 18 days.
Mike had lived in Parma before moving to Dexter thirty years ago.
On April 5, 2005, he was married to Dorthia Lynn Sanders in Dexter.
Surviving are his wife, Dorthia L. Hess of Dexter; three sons, Jimmy and Charles Sanders both of Bernie, Earl Grim of Dexter; three grandchildren; two sisters, Lyn Sanders of Dexter and Brenda Scroggins of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy McKinley Hess and Steven Lee Hess.
Friends may visit on Thursday, November 21, 2019, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Parma Cemetery in Parma with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Verlon Phillips, son of the Lee Phillips and Sylvia Nole Phillips was born on January 6, 1923 in Arkansas and departed this life on Saturday November 16, 2019 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 96 years.
Mr. Phillips was a retired Union Carpenter from Chicago, Illinois and a member of the Gospel Assembly Church.
On April 17, 1943 he was united in marriage to Teshia Inadel Boley. Mrs. Phillips preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Robert Phillips (PAT) of Dexter; one sister, Loretta Izola Luttrel of Memphis; by three grandsons Bobby and Tony Phillips and Mark Cox; also by many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Jean Phillips; five brothers, Vernon Phillips, Vernie Phillips, Vance Phillips, Vick Phillips, and Vester Phillips; by one sister, Ida Azella Phillips.
Visitation will be held from Noon until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday November 19, 2019 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.
Graveside services will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Cemetery near Morley.

Jo Ann Snider, daughter of the late Luther E. Snider and Viola Lee Warren, was born on July 9, 1952 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on November 17, 2019 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 67 years.
Ms. Snider was a Probation and Parole Officer for the State of Missouri for 22 years.
She is survived by her cousins; Jean Blair, Mike Lane and wife Cheryl, Bobby Blair and wife Jane, Terry Blair and wife Karen, Jeff Blair and wife Melissa; and by many more relatives and friends.

Perry Dean Lane, son of the late Delmar Lane and Ruth Edwards Lane, was born on January 8, 1962, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on November 17, 2019, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 57 years.
Mr. Lane was an insurance agent with American National Insurance in Dexter for 13 years. He was a member of the Dexter Elks. He was an official, referee and umpire for numerous athletic associations, including the Missouri State High School Activities Association. Most recently he umpired girls’ softball in the southeast Missouri area; he had also officiated many high school boys’ basketball, football and baseball games, as well as Division I and Division II athletic events. He enjoyed playing golf, especially at Bella Vista in Arkansas. He was also a member of the Fox Haven Country Club and had been a member at the Hidden Trails Country Club as well as the Malden Country Club. He enjoyed boating with his family on Lake Wappapello. After graduating from Richland High School in 1980, he was signed to pitch at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was also a member of the MU Alumni Association.
On June 10, 1989, in Fayette Missouri, he was united in marriage to Rhonda Kreutzer. Mrs. Lane survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife, Rhonda, he is survived by three daughters, Andrea Thacher and husband Kyle of Boonville, Missouri, Kerri Lane of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Darcie Lane of O’Fallon, Missouri; by his brother, Tim Lane of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Connie Wyant and husband Ray of LaBelle, Florida, and Cherie Chapman and husband Harold of Columbia, Missouri; and by two grandsons, Sam and Will Thacher.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Lane.
