Richard (Dicky) Gaines of Dexter, Missouri was born to the late Cletus Gaines and Sylvia Roxine Terrill Gaines on January 19, 1942 in Dexter, Missouri and passed away on August 5, 2021 at his home in Dexter, Missouri.

Richard had been a resident of Dexter, Missouri all his life. He enjoyed his dogs,  fishing, hunting, gardening, landscaping and rebuilding cars

On May 6 1961 he married Barbara Joyce Palmer in Stoddard County, Missouri and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2006. 

Surviving Richard is one daughter Tammy Vaughn of Dexter, Missouri; one granddaughter Angela Gardner of Dexter, Missouri; one sister Shirley Dowdy of Chaffee, Missouri; one  brother Ronnie (Carol) Gaines of Nobnoster, Missouri. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Gaines, Wayne Gaines and Sonny Gaines and one sister Nancy Tilley. A host of family and  friends also survive.   

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 10, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
