Paul Stemmett son of Mara Aletta Johanna Stemmett of Senekal, Free State and the late Adamus Paulus Stemmett was born on January 2, 1971, in Senekal, Free State, South Africa and departed this life on August 14, 2024, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 53.

Paul had worked as a lineman electrician in South Africa. He enjoyed fixing things that had been broken, fishing, and cooking BBQ. Paul loved being around his family and friends, especially his wife and two daughters. He had been coming to the United States for the last eight years to work on farms and was currently working for Murphy Grain.

On September 28, 1993, he was united in marriage to Jo-Ann Van Straaten in Kraaifontein, Western Cape. Mrs. Stemmett survives of their home in Mosselbay, South Africa.

Along with his wife and mother he is survived by his two daughters, Ashley Stemmett, and Kayla Stemmett both of Mosselbay, South Africa; by his brother, Erik Stemmett of Senekal, Free State; by two sisters, Louise Meiring of Hartenbos, South Africa, and Lenie Monk of Ficksburg, South Africa; and by many extended family and friends.

There are currently no services planned.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri is assisting the family with arrangements.
