James “Ray” Culbertson, son of the late Elmer Ray Culbertson and Arle Wilson Culbertson, was born on January 9, 1932, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on September 12, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.
Mr. Culbertson was a former farmer. He was a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri. He enjoyed wood working.
On December 9, 1966, in Bloomfield, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Virgie “June” Jarrell. Mrs. Culbertson preceded him in death on December 12, 2016.
He is survived by his son, Jim Culbertson of Bloomfield, Missouri; by his daughter, Cindy Griffin of Bloomfield, Missouri; and by six grandchildren, Miranda Griffin, Micaela Griffin, Cody Blake, Will Culbertson, Morgan Culbertson, and Conner Culbertson.
Other than by his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Farr.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Hill Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Betty June Curtis, daughter of the late Otto Cobb and Evelyn Fields Cobb, was born on July 11, 1934, in Conran, Missouri, and departed this life on September 11, 2024, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 90 years.
Mrs. Curtis was a former cook at T.S. Hill Middle School in Dexter. She attended First Assembly of God in Dexter and was a resident of Dexter.
On January 3, 1954, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Robert Eugene Curtis. Mr. Curtis preceded her in death on November 24, 2019.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Oshia of Dexter, Missouri, and Lisa Pewitt of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by her sister, Sue Smith of Branson, Missouri, by her half-brother, Joey Alexander of Portland, Tennessee; and by three grandchildren, Lindsey Pewitt, Alexa Pewitt, and Landria Pewitt.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Cobb.
Graveside services will be held in Dexter Cemetery on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

Ruth Grimes, daughter of the late John Parks and Goldie Locke Parks, was born on January 17, 1930, in Dudley, Missouri and departed this life on September 11, 2024, at Memory Lane Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.
Mrs. Grimes had worked for the International Hat Factory and WW Wood. She was a member of Faith Community Church in Dudley, Missouri, and a resident of Dudley. She loved working crossword puzzles, reading, singing old hymns in church, and feeding her family.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis Parks and wife Jessie of Dudley, Missouri, Jimmy Grimes and wife Samia of Ft. Myers, Florida, Chris Grimes of Dudley, Missouri, and Floyd Parks of Pontiac, Michigan; by her daughter, Janice Traitor of Pontiac, Michigan; and by fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Grimes; by her daughter, Vickie Newcombe; and by five brothers, three sisters, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

Richard Leo Carpenter, son of the late Herbert Carpenter and Catherine Walker Carpenter, was born on February 25, 1944, in Royal Oak, Michigan, and departed this life on September 10, 2024, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 80 years.
Mr. Carpenter had worked for a printing company and was a former truck driver. He attended Thousand Hills Cowboy Church and Ash Hill General Baptist Church in Fisk, Missouri. He enjoyed playing golf, tinkering with old cars and watching the Dallas Cowboys play football, and he was an avid Trump supporter.
On April 13, 1985, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Sharon James. Mrs. Carpenter survives of their home in Dexter.
Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Angela Dodson of Ellisville, Missouri, Paula Boyd of Joplin, Missouri, and Tammy Hood of Union, Mississippi; by eight grandchildren, Christopher, Mariah, Kyson, Chelsea, Austin, Paul, Amber, and Alison; and by eight great-grandchildren, Jayden, Evelyn, Audrey, Rhainey, Banks, Hunter, Colton, and Peyton.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kerby Carpenter, Mike Carpenter, and Phil Carpenter, and by his sister, Eileen Ruth Carpenter.
Graveside services will be held at Dudley Cemetery in Dudley, Missouri on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.

Ronald D. Temples, son of Norris “Bud” Temples, Jr. and the late Shirley Shipman Temples, was born on December 21, 1965, in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on September 9, 2024, at his home near Dudley at the age of 58.
He worked as an HVAC technician and plumber for Jim Bollinger & Son Heat, Air, Plumbing, and Electrical.
On July 11, 2004, he was married to Carolyn Christian in Dudley. Mrs. Temples survives of the home.
Ron leaves behind his wife, his father, and two sons, Josh Durham of Dexter, Missouri, and Jamie Durham (MacKenzie Williams) of Essex, Missouri; five granddaughters, Destiny Durham (CJ Greene), Alexis Durham (Marcellus Fleming), Zoey Durham, Heidi Durham, and Aubrey Camden, along with one great granddaughter, Harmony Fleming. He is also survived by one brother Aaron Temples; two uncles, Clifford Temples and Gary Temples; by one aunt, Sue Sadler; several cousins, other loved ones, and many friends.
Preceding Ron in death were his mother, Shirley Temples; his brother, Darren Temples; and his twin brother, Donald Temples. His grandparents, Norris Sr. and Lucille Temples and Jac and Edna Shipman also preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Mathis Funeral Home. Funeral services will then be conducted on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Hagy Cemetery.
