
Chris Slaughter, son of Billy K. Slaughter and Donna Bufford Johnston, was born on June 28, 1969, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on May 27, 2025, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 56 years.
Mr. Slaughter was an auto mechanic, he enjoyed working with his hands, fixing cars, and rebuilding his Corvette. The joy of his life was his wife, his daughter and his grandchildren. He and his wife attended Risen Church in Dexter.
On September 23, 1989, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Rhonda Shelton. Mrs. Slaughter survives of their home in Dexter.
Along with his wife, Rhonda, he is survived by his father, Billy Slaughter of Ellsinore, Missouri; by his mother and step-father, Donna and Frank Johnston of Oklahoma; by his daughter, Kristin Blunt and husband Jordan of Essex, Missouri; by his brothers, Jeff Slaughter of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Brian Baker of St. Louis, Missouri, and James Scott of Ellsinore, Missouri; by his sister, Dina Slaughter of Lawton, Oklahoma; and by two grandchildren, Quinton David and Morgan Claire.
He was preceded in death by his step-brother, Steve Scott.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
