
Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Spotlight shines on Dexter athlete Riley Thornton.
Riley is a senior on the Dexter High School tennis team and is the daughter of Monica Thornton. She considers her oldest brother Andrew Thornton as the father figure in her life.
Her grandparents include Bobbie Jackson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
She is active in Sr. Beta Club, FCCLA, Future Teachers of America, Pep Club, Women's Choir, and Drama, Speech, and Debate.
She made the honor roll during her high school years.
She enjoys writing, listening to music, ribbon dancing, singing, and cheerleading.
After graduation she plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University to study acting and write movie scripts.
Riley is a member of First Baptist Church.

Malia is a junior on the Dexter High School tennis team and is the daughter of Karen and Shannon Cook.
She is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta Club, FCCLA, Student Council, and Pep Club.
After high school she plans to attend Arkansas State University - Jonesboro.
Cook enjoys being involved in everything she possibly an by.
She is a member of First Baptist Church.


Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie Mules baseball team defeated Bloomfield in the opening round of the 2017 Bernie Fall Baseball Tournament on Saturday by a score of 21 - 1 in 5 innings.
Nate Dillinger and Blake Beacham pitched for the Mules.
Wyatt Barnett and Weston Comstock hit back to back home runs to start the game.
Barnett had 3 hits and 5 RBI to lead a 14-hit attack.
Comstock, Beacham, Brown, Hobgood, and Dillinger had 2 hits each.
Dillinger also had a home run.
The Bernie Mules Baseball team is now 17-2.
Campbell beat South Pemiscot, Neelyville beat Puxico. and Advance beat Bell City in other first round games.
The semi-finals will be played Monday at 4:00 with Bernie taking on Campbell at 4:00 followed by Neelyville versus Advance.
The finals will be played at Bernie Tuesday,

Jadyn is a junior on the Dexter High School tennis team and is the daughter of Billie and Ken Stratton.
Her grandparents are Bill and Anna Swinney.
She is active in varsity track, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta Club, Student Council, Top 10%, National Society of High School Scholars, and Pep Club.
Outside of school she is active in Refuge Youth Group.
Northcutt enjoys hiking, being outside, and shopping.
She is a member of First Baptist Church and has participated in USTA tennis.
Her plans after graduation are to attend college and medical school.
