PBHS Choir Students Qualify for State Festival
Poplar Bluff, Missouri - Dozens of Poplar Bluff High School band and choir students received exemplary ratings at the Three Rivers MSHSAA District Musical Festival held Saturday, March 9, at the Tinnin Center, earning spots at next month’s state festival in Columbia.
 
Receiving one ratings were choir members Eva Bedell, Molly Berry, Ross Dare, Jayvon Holloway and Allison Knowlton for their vocal solos; Isaac Reid, Jayvon Holloway, Jacob Joseph, Michael Joseph, Michael Thom and Michael Allen Ward Jr. in the TTB sextet category; and Eva Bedell, Ross Dare, Jayvon Holloway, Jenna Isom, Michael Joseph, Allison Knowlton, Kerrigan Moore and Michael Thom for SATV double quartet.
 
One rating band performances included Emma Harris, Bailey Odom, Michael Thom and Michael Tiffany for percussion quartet; Adam Black, Cody Daughertee, Blake Millner and Christian Redden for trumpet quartet; Cody Daughertee for his French horn solo; and Samantha Nelson, Layton Sanders and Michael Allen Ward Jr. in the saxophone trio category.

Bernie students Earn Positive Office Referral Awards

Bernie, Missouri - Bernie Elementary Positive Office Referrals were awarded this week.  These students were rewarded for their good behavior!

Students who earn such an honor also received a Subway Sandwich Gift Card and a POR Certificate.

These students were referred for displaying positive behavior!

Amelia (2nd) picked up pencils off the floor that others had refused to pick up.

Wyatt (3rd) had a great week and used his manners,

Emma (5th) always follows instructions and is so nice to teach. She has already met her AR goal for the quarter.

Drake (5th) fixed the computer cart.

Rhemy (6th) is a great leader in music class.

Leah (3rd) had a great week.

Ryan (3rd) had a great week.

Blayne (4th) worked hard in music class last week.

Madilyn & Isabella (2nd) helped another student with her Missouri poster.

Elks Students of the Month for March 2019

Advance High School seniors Katlyn Cook and Brandon Greenlee were selected as Dexter Elks Students of the Month for March.

Cook and Greenlee are eligible to compete for the Elks Students of the Year.

The Elks Students of the Year will be announced at a banquet in the spring.

Cook, Greenlee, their parents and counselor Kim Backfisch will be honored at the banquet.
